The Nevada County District Attorney provides crime victims with emotional support in the aftermath of crime, guidance through the criminal justice process, and assistance in applying for Victim Compensation.

All services are confidential and free of charge.

The District Attorney's Victim/Witness Program can assist if a person:

• Needs to talk to someone about the effect of a crime
• Wants an explanation of the court process
• Wants to know the status of their case
• Needs a referral to a social service agency
• Wants an advocate with them when they testify
• Needs information about protective/restraining orders
• Wants help preparing a Victim Impact Statement
• Has questions about restitution for their losses
• Needs assistance filing a victim of crime claim
