The HOPE National Resource Center is based out of Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. We are creating a paradigm shift in systems of care, communities, and policies to value and actively bolster positive childhood experiences (PCEs). HOPE offers research, resources, trainings and technical assistance to help bring the power of the positive into the lives of children and their families.

Positive experiences can ease toxic stress and help children and youth grow into more resilient, healthier adults. Positive experiences can help counteract the affects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) identifies ways that our communities and systems of care can better ensure that all children have more positive experiences and that all families have support to nurture and celebrate their strengths.

Discounted bus fare cards are available for qualified seniors, people with disabilities, and youth passengers. Children 5 years and younger ride free. The forms of identification listed below are required in order to be eligible for discounted fares. All applicants must have and show a valid photo ID.

California Alliance of Caregivers…

• serves foster, kinship, guardian, and adoptive families
• provides one one-on-one assistance to families who need to connect to resources and benefits that are specifically for children and youth currently in or from foster care
• provides free parent training and resources for all parents, but they are directed toward parents caring for children with mental health needs
• hosts weekly, virtual, facilitated support groups
• has a leadership coalition around the state that supports families at the local level

Trainings are free for all parents and caregivers. Training and support are primarily targeted to parents and caregivers of children in or from foster care; and children with mental health needs.

The Roseville Police Activities League provides safe and supervised environments for recreational, athletic, social, educational programs. Programs offered appeal to the different interests of children and young adults helping to build meaningful relationships between Roseville youth and Police Officers. RPAL also partners with KidsFirst to provide homework help to kids twice a week. All RPAL programs and events are low cost. Some athletic activities include Boxing, Taekwondo, Basketball, Dance, art, cooking, and Yoga. • Transitional living and prevention services
• Additional services for people with both mental illness and substance use disorders who are Medi-Cal beneficiaries

• Walk-in Assessment Clinic for Drug and Alcohol Treatment for Nevada County Residents who have Medi-Cal or who might be eligible for Medi-Cal who are interested in Residential Treatment for a Substance use Disorder. Youth Hub Summer Day Camp
This camp started in the summer of 2021 to provide much-needed child care for working parents during the summer and after the hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic. The day camp is for children in grades TK-8, and operates five days a week from 8am-6pm for five weeks. The camp provides a safe space for kids during the summer with a full schedule of enrichment and educational activities daily. The camp also provides first-time jobs for youth 16 ages and over from the community, including youth involved in BFFY programs. In 2023, 30 youth were employed and 250 kids attended this camp.
