Nevada County Now offers paratransit and senior on-demand dial-a-rides. There is no Sunday service. Service area includes Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley, Lake Wildwood, and other local areas (see link to map in Web Pages section below). Bus hours: 7am - 6pm  Monday - Friday. 7:30am - 4:30pm Saturday.

The County of Nevada Transit Services administers an origin-to-destination/door-to-door paratransit service for persons with disabilities who, due to a mental or physical disability, are unable to use the fixed-route bus system, as mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Info about bus fares and passes for Nevada County Connects, the public bus system in Western Nevada County, is on the website.

Discounted bus fare cards are available for qualified seniors, people with disabilities, and youth passengers. Children 5 years and younger ride free. The forms of identification listed below are required in order to be eligible for discounted fares. All applicants must have and show a valid photo ID.

Gold Country Senior Services (GCSS) offers activities and classes that may include Needlework Circle, Bridge, Bingo, Nutritional and Educational Workshops, Line Dance, Tai Chi, and Gentle Yoga. See current listings here.

Gold Country Senior Services also operates a Senior Center in Grass Valley. It's located at 231 Colfax Ave in Grass Valley. Senior Center Members receive half-price access to all programs and get to help choose the programs GCSS offers each month.

Sierra Senior Services offers community dining at the North Tahoe Event Center at 8318 N Lake Blvd, Kings Beach, CA 96143. 

Open to the public Tuesday from 11:45am-1pm. Please make reservations by 4pm the day before by calling 530-550-7600. 

Visitors under the age of 60 may enjoy lunch for a contribution of $10 per meal. Voluntary contribution for seniors is $6 per meal but no senior will be turned away due to inability to contribute.
