Services
The Behavioral Health Department provides a wide variety of Adult Mental Health Services to the public, particularly for Medi-Cal recipients and those with severe mental illness. These include Mental Health Services and Alcohol and Other Drug Services. County employees provide some services, while contracted individuals and organizations provide other services, with County monitoring.

Service Range
This continuum of care ranges from acute inpatient to routine outpatient services, and includes medication services, psychotherapy, residential services, wellness and recovery, care management, long term institutional care and vocational services. Adult Services monitors the delivery of services to ensure that State standards are met for quality, timeliness and authorization.

Provides administration of the adult probation division for intake and supervision services, alternative custody programs and victim witness services. Supervises all offenders on various specialty court caseloads, such as Adult Mental Health Courts as well as Adult Drug Courts.

Performs mandated tasks, such as providing all investigative and report services to the courts, supervision of offenders placed on probation and released into the community, and advocacy for the rights and financial claims of crime victims and witnesses.

Supports the local courts in the operation of specific programs including the operation of court services units, field supervision units, and victim support and advocacy.


Facilitates the Probation Community Service Program that allows qualified defendants with sentences of 60 days of less to serve their sentences- supervised by probation department personnel or authorized liaison personnel - in lieu of jail time.

Turning Point Community Programs (TPCP) provides Assisted Outpatient Treatment, a program within Providence Center , locally based mental health treatment, for a small number of individuals referred under W & I Code 5345-5349, otherwise known as Laura's Law. This is a preventative, proactive approach used to assist individuals at increased risk to themselves and the community due to a history of not engaging in needed mental health treatment, who meet specific eligibility requirements.

Auburn Renewal Center (ARC) is a free medical clinic located on the grounds of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist church. Auburn Renewal Center offers basic medical services to the under-insured, uninsured, and unsheltered residents of the greater Auburn area. Clinic is primarily for people 18 years old, low income, uninsured, under-insured, unsheltered. Children over 8 can be seen on a case by case basis.

Services are every Tuesday 9am-1pm, and Thursdays by appointment.
