The CPUC High Fire Threat District (HFTD) map allows you to learn if you are in a High Fire Threat District.

Most of Nevada County and Placer County are in Tier 2 or 3. To find your tier, click on the Layer List icon at top right of map. Some PG&E programs use this map to determine program eligibility (e.g. for portable backup battery program).

About The Map:

The CPUC High Fire-Threat District Map includes three fire-threat areas:

Zone 1 consists of Tier 1 High-Hazard Zones (HHZs) from the United States Forest Service (USFS) and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) joint map of Tree Mortality HHZs. Tier 1 HHZs (CAL FIRE) are in direct proximity to communities, roads, and utility lines, and are a direct threat to public safety.

Tier 2 consists of areas on the CPUC Fire-Threat Map where there is an elevated risk (including likelihood and potential impacts on people and property) from wildfires associated with overhead utility power lines or overhead utility po…

Town of Truckee is served by the Truckee Fire Protection District whose service area extends beyond the Town of Truckee limits. Provides Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services on a 24-hour basis. Offers general safety information on topics including Defensible Space, Fire and Home Safety, Fire Conditions, Burn Permits, and Emergency Evacuations at local stations.

Truckee Fire Protection District has 8 locations to serve the community:

STATION 91
10049 Donner Pass Road
Station 91 is where you can locate the Administration office, Fire Prevention bureau, and the Wildfire Prevention division.
Main access to the offices are through the door facing Donner Pass Road at the front of the station and up the center staircase. Here you will find the offices of the Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, Division Chiefs, Public Information Officer, Wildfire Prevention, and Administrative staff.
Open Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm (excluding holidays). Closed from 12pm-1pm for lunch.

STATION 92
11473 Donner Pass Road
Station 92 is the "main station", located in the center of the Fire District. This station houses the Office of the Battalion Chief and is staffed on a full-time basis by a Fire Captain and three Firefighter/Paramedics.

Find your Nevada County evacuation zone on Genasys.

In the event of a wildfire or other emergency situation, law enforcement and fire agencies issue evacuation warnings or evacuation orders for affected areas. These notices are issued for a ZONE with an EVACUATION STATUS.

Authorities will use Zone Names (a combination of letters and numbers) in emergency alerts, media releases, and on social media to notify residents which areas are under an evacuation warning or order. Follow the 3 steps below to find and remember your zone.
