Wayfinder Family Services has four programs serving Placer County. Three are direct referrals and one requires a call to the Placer County Mental Health Access line.

Kinship Support Services Program – call directly for referral. Wayfinder’s Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP) supports grandparents, extended family members or close family friends who step up to raise children so they avoid the trauma of separation from their birth family. KSSP is free of charge to families.

Home to Stay – can call directly or be referred by a provider. Home to Stay offers counseling and support services to kinship and birth families who are at high risk for out of home placement in Placer County. Wayfinder provides short-term in home counseling and parent education to enhance parenting skills, building supports and mitigating behavioral health risks to youth and families. Give an Hour provides free mental health services to active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve forces, and veterans who have separated or retired from any branch of military service. Give an Hour also serves family members and loved ones of those who have served in the military.

Harmony House is an adult residential facility with a treatment component program that offers mentally ill individuals a group living environment. Adults live at Harmony House cooperatively, learn the skills necessary to live independently while receiving support as needed from highly trained Mental Health Workers.
 
Harmony House is located in the foothills of Auburn, California in the hub of other Placer County departments. Many services are centrally located for residents and can be reached within walking distance.

Residents are selected from the in-patient population of acute psychiatric facilities, state hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or from the community. Prospective residents are referred to Harmony House through Placer County Department of Mental Health. The Medical Board is responsible for investigating complaints and disciplining health professionals who violate the law.

The Medical Board of California (Board) investigates complaints involving:

• Medical doctors (M.D.s)
• Midwives 
• Polysomnographic trainees, technicians, and technologists
• Research psychoanalysts

In addition, Board staff reviews and investigates complaints about Doctors of Podiatric Medicine; however, any disciplinary action taken against the respective licensees is decided by the licensing Board/Bureau for that profession.

If an individual or organization appears to have violated the laws within the Board's jurisdiction, Board staff will investigate the allegations and charges may be filed.
