Crisis Services
The Crisis Team provides 24- hour services to any individual adult or child in the community in a behavioral health or emotional crisis.

• 24/7 mobile crisis services
• Phone counseling for individuals in a mental health crisis or urgent situation
• In person assessment for individuals during a behavioral health crisis at the local emergency room
  • Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Western Nevada County
  • Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee
• Admittance to Psychiatric Inpatient Services under Welfare and Institutions Code 5150
• After hours referrals for behavioral health services and other county services
• Crisis services are contracted with the Sierra Mental Wellness Group.

Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7 mental health support and crisis intervention through text messaging. 

Services are available in English and Spanish and are delivered by trained volunteer crisis counselors.

Services include:

• Offering immediate emotional support through text-based conversations
• Assisting with mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts
• Connecting people to local resources, when needed

Children's System Of Care (CSOC) has a Crisis/Child Welfare Services (CWS) Report Line to meet the special needs of children and youth who may be at risk, and their families, in Placer County.

A telephone call can bring help in a crisis. For at-risk children in emergencies and crisis situations, a special 24-hour, 7-day a week, response program is available by calling Family and Children's Services: 916-872-6549 or toll free 866-293-1940.
