California Children's Services (CCS) is a statewide program that arranges, directs, and pays for medical care, equipment, and rehabilitation when these services are authorized by the program. Services can be authorized for children and young adults less than 21 years of age who have eligible medical conditions and whose families are unable to pay for all or part of their care.

Your child may be eligible if he/she meets all four of the following requirements:
  • Age: Your child must be under 21 years of age.
  • Residence: Your child must be a permanent resident of the California county where you apply. Your child's residence is usually where you live.
  • Income: If your child is not already enrolled in Medi-Cal or the Healthy Families Program, your income must be less than $40,000 per year, according to the adjusted gross income on your California income taxes. Placer County Public Health Department (PCPHD) partners with medical care providers in the community, and the California Department of Public Health, to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases. We investigate and follow-up on reported cases and their contacts. Staff provide education to individuals and in group settings, and surveillance duties to reduce incidents and prevent additional cases.

The Disability Disaster Access and Resources Program (DDAR) a joint effort with the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC) and PG&E to support people with disabilities and older adults before, during, and after a PSPS event.

The program enables qualified customers who use electrical medical devices to access backup portable batteries through a grant, lease-to-own or the FreedomTech low-interest financial loan program.

Transportation resources, lodging and food options are also provided through an online application process to qualified customers. CFILC administers all aspects of the program.

Disaster Case Managers will work one-on-one with individuals and families that have been impacted by the severe winter storms.

Meeting regularly and as needed, the case managers will be able to work with you step-by-step throughout the recovery process, provide you with resources for any need that comes up, navigate the County, State, Federal home repair and financial assistance processes that you will encounter, advocate for additional resources as needed, provide a physical place where you can print, fax, email, and copy documents, and keep you up to date with any updates as they are released.
