Watch Duty, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, alerts one of nearby wildfires and firefighting efforts in real-time.

Information in Watch Duty is provided by volunteers – firefighters, dispatchers, and first responders – who monitor radio scanners and other sources to supply users with up-to-date information.

During a wildfire event, it's important to check other trusted information sources. Information featured in Watch Duty, due to the nature of its operation, is fast-changing and should usually not be used as a standalone source for critical news and updates.

Features include:

  • Real-time Wildfire Alerts
Receive notifications about the status and conditions on the ground as they change.
  • Monitor Wildfires and Prescribed Burns
Know if that smoke in the distance is a fire you need to be worried about.
  • Evacuation Orders & Shelters
Find evacuation notices, as well as shelters for people and animals.
